Hong Kong Following a 10-hour flight sat next to an 18-stone man who took a sleeping pill to help him sleep, but could not be woken up when he flopped on me, and a screen that could not be turned off so I had a bright light in my face all the time, I finally arrived in Hong Kong. I made it to the Kimberley Hotel in Kowloon, which despite what the photos show, was in a surprisingly good area, and not bad for £35 a night. Rather than stopping and having a sleep I thought that the best thing to do would be to get out and to see the sights. I was situated about 15 minutes walk (well for me anyway) away from the Star Ferry, and this was the one thing that I had decided that I was going to do there. Once I got there and found how easy it was to do, I decided to venture up Victoria Peak as well. This is also the day that I managed to five forms of motorised transport in a day, aeroplane into Hong Kong, train from the airport to Kowloon, bus from the station to the hotel, boat across the harbour, fenicular railway up to Victoria Peak, taxi from the Star Ferry back to the hotel. |
