Instructor Biography - Nikki

For the majority of my adult life I have been active and involved in some sort of sport. I have completed four 'Race for Life' 5K races for cancer research and in 2006 completed the Great south Run a 10 mile run which I raised money for 'Get Kids Going'.

When I first had my twins, I suffered many frustrations and barriers to getting back into shape. Firstly, I suffered badly from post-natal depression, then there was the time involved in just getting out of the door, let alone making it to a gym. I also, had no close family around me to help out so struggled with childcare and then there were the financial issues that came with a gym, crèche etc. My twins are now 9 and are following in my footsteps by enjoying and taking part in many forms of exercise.

I started running my own BuggyBootcamp post-natal fitness groups to fill a gap that is missing for all mums wanting to get back into fitness. The groups are fun exercise sessions outside in the local park, which incorporate fun activities and hard work, obviously! As baby comes too it is ideal, as there is no need for babysitters or crèches. I feel these types of fitness groups give confidence to new mums and help them make friends for themselves and their baby. They also help to avoid or alleviate the symptoms of post-natal depression and get mum active. It's a great way to exercise, it's outdoors, it's social and you have no childcare worries!

A bit more about me:
My main passion is kettlebells. I first got into training with them through a friend and will be training towards certification this year. When I turned 40 just over a year ago I decided to start my training to be a Personal Trainer and this is now complete. I am also doing a boxing leaders course this year that will enable me to use more of this in my training. I love a challenge!!
